![]() Carl Gustav Jung 1875-1961 |
Carl Gustav Jung. In 1981, during my administrator period (1980-1989) of the Speulder and Sprielderforest , I came in contact with a neighbor of the forest. We had to discuss something concerning an old tree which stood on our common border and we had very rapidly a deal. The rest of the afternoon we talked about the profession of the neighbor, a wellknown psychiatrist in Holland. He was the one who indicated me on Freud and Jung and he told me to read their works. With Freud I was rapidly finished , caused by his sexual fixations but with Jung it was realy different. The idea of Jung that the libido (life energy) was also fed by the pursuit to power (Adler) beside the sexualiteit, addressed me a lot. That was the beginning of many years of study of the work of Carl Jung, which continues till today. The complete works of Jung, costed me a lot of time and energy. Beside that, I could not withdraw myself from the influence of that on my daily life and my way of thinking and looking to myself and my world changed complete.

Jung tells us that our mind has 4 functions... thinking ... feeling... intuition and.. to perceive. But,our mind has also an unconscious part, which he proved in the beginning of 1900 with association tests with stimuli words. Then he measured the response time on those words and at the same time he measured the skin tension of one's arm and hand with a galvanic instrument. And out of those tests he proved that we have an unconscious part of our mind... directed to surviving.... in healthy cases. Now unconscious is... not aware, therefore to make contact with the unconsicious is very difficult. He also discovered that dreams have a relation with that unconscious and you can use that in some ways. But mostly a fight arises, because all explanation is subjective and therefore he tells us that explanations only are correct if the dreamer accept it without compulsion of others. In this vision, dreams contain a kind of symbol language and the function of it, is defragmentatie of our hard disk (the brain). That unconscious is a very "vast tale" and not easily to understand. Every man has an "unconscious woman" in its mind and....every woman has an "unconscious man" in itself. That is difficult to accept because we lay down this matter at the partner, most of the time. Thus men and women therefore frequently do "jobs" for each other, mostly not aware of it.

After a number of years study I got the occasion in 1986, of doing an analysis, what means that all your dreams are examined, by an experienced psychiatrist. Then I have been analysed for two and half year under accompaniment of Dr. Hans Sager, director of the Junginstituut in Kusnacht, Switzerland. In that time about1500 dreams of me have been examined and I learned a lot, but also my view of the world changed and now I see things, which I did not see in former days. During that analysis I have also been to the Junginstuut for a number of lectures and I visit the tower of Jung in Bollingen and when I was there, I realised that this stuff has put me on the track of art..... Borrasart.
